Our Work

Since starting in 2017, SWIM has supported a sea of progressive social and civic causes, often motivated by the "here and now." Current events, sometimes explosive ones, continue to act as our rudder for prioritizing issues across the state. The unique characteristics of Michigan--with two distinct peninsulas, an abundant acreage of farmland, majestic shorelines, and the country's 14th largest metropolitan area--means that our activism and membership be supportive of a wide variety of regional initiatives. Our swelling membership is proudly activated, in great measures, for issues such as climate change, clean water, voting rights, reproductive justice, and redistricting. We are thrilled to share with you the amazing work of SWIM and its member groups. Without our dynamic membership, the power of our indivisibility wouldn't be possible.
