ALL THINGS NO KINGS 3.28.2026
FINDING AN EVENT
So many events are planned across the state. Check out the map! If you are looking for an event near you (click on the map to go to the interactive version for specific event information.)Â The full list is available here.

MANAGING YOUR EVENT
To make edits to your event once it’s been approved, please complete this form.
Still need help or have questions? The team has office hours for support. You can sign up here or email at host@nokings.org
MANAGING YOUR POST-EVENT DEBRIEF
Indivisible National is urging us to cast a wide net to gather contact information from new protesters who show up at your NK3 event and invite them into the Indivisible family! Adding these folks to your groups makes them true activists and members of the resistance, rather than people who just show up for protests. This is the most efficient way to bring our numbers up to that magical-sounding 3.5% participation level that Erica Chenoweth and Maria Stephan talk about!Â
Try extending those invitations to a group follow up event in the 7-10 days following NK3! This can be done by welcoming them at your regular group meeting instead of building a separate new event!  We know our leaders have ideas about this, but if you're looking for fresh eyes on it, sign up for the Group2Group monthly chat with leaders on a variety of questions and content you may be wondering about! Crowdsourcing information is an ideal way to get new ideas!
And for those of you familiar with Wave Michigan, stay tuned! This year's version is even easier and the texting capability may be a great entry-level step for new folks to join in. You could easily run it as a 15-20 minute segment of your regular meeting. More info will be coming on that soon!
SAFETY TRAINING
Opportunities for Safety Training will be available up to the day of the event. A list of all trainings covering everything from messaging and communication skills to de-escalation is available here.

SWIM will be co-sponsoring "De-escalation Training for Protectors of Democracy" on Monday March 23 from 6:30-8:30 PM.
This interactive training is designed to equip participants with the essential skills needed to engage in dialogue and manage conflict during potentially tense and emotional circumstances. This training will focus on empathy, reflective listening, self-regulation, safety measures, and role play scenarios. You can register here.
Our presenters will be: Jill Murphy (Michigan Families for Fair Care); Erik Shelley (Michigan United Action); Stephanie Crider (UNDIVIDED); Christopher Ford (UNDIVIDED)
If you can't make it to this excellent training, get someone from your group who can attend and report back!
If it's impossible for anyone, try these resources: this shared SWIM Google Drive holds resources -- also shared on the Leader Slack -- to help you keep your people safe! Share with your crew! Have other great resources to share? Do it on Slack - use the #tactics-deescalation channel - or ask SWIM to help post them!Â
PROMOTE THE CAUSE AT NO KINGS
Â
 ONE LAST PUSH FOR SIGNATURES

SWIM has been approached by Voters Not Politicians (VNP) to make sure we can get this job done! The deadline for collection has been extended to April 15. If we don't make BIG strides in the next two weeks, it's unlikely we will have this exciting anti-corruption measure on the ballot this November. This is bad for democracy, and good for Trump et al.Â
The extension is good news, but it also means that signatures collected prior to October 17 will be invalid.  WE NEED TO GET THOSE VOTERS TO SIGN AGAIN, AS WELL AS COLLECTING NEW SIGNATURES!  (Signature sheets will be reviewed prior to submission to remove any duplicates)
This extension will allow us to collect signatures at NO KINGS EVENTS. If you plan to attend NO KINGS on March 28th, please plan to pick up some petitions and fill at least one petition with signatures. Getting signatures at NO KINGS is easy.
How Voters Not Politicians Can Help
If you need more petitions you can find a find a supply hub  here.
If you would like to set up other training dates or have questions about this process you can contact Paul Rincon at VNP.
If passed, this law will begin the process of electing those who will fight for working people, not corporate interests.
PROMOTE VOTER REGISTRATION AT NO KINGS 3/28
Let's Act to Protect Voting on NO KINGS DAY

Fair elections are under threat, and we have a golden opportunity on March 28th to provide voters with information they need NOW to protect their vote in November.  Let's strike down wannabe kings!
There are four different images. Use the attached sample cards or fliers to inform and energize rally-goers. Hand them out as your team walks through the crowd or welcome people to the rally by reminding them of the power of their vote. It's never too early to prepare for elections!
Talk to voters aboutÂ
Checking and re-checking that their voter registration is up-to-date and accurate
Signing up for the permanent absentee voter list (increases turnout significantly)
Obtaining a Michigan Enhanced Driver's License (the one with an American flag logo) to prove citizenship. (A standard license with just the REAL ID star logo will not be considered a valid voter ID if the SAVE Act passes.)
Making a voting plan now.Â
"A well-informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny." often attributed to Thomas Jefferson.
